I am somewhere near the end of doing six loads of laundry today, because no laundry got done yesterday with the concert and all. :) The good news is that the new dryer with the vent cleaned out is performing splendidly and drying things in much shorter cycle times than the old dryer. Not all of this is due to cleaning out the vent, I think.
I still need to get the vent rerouted, but it is not the highest item on my list of priorities to get fixed.
After putting the first load of laundry in, I headed out to lunch by myself since Gretchen wasn't up for it. I had a nice meal over at Texas Roadhouse, catching the early bird special. When I was walking back to the car, I noticed that a pebble was caught in the tread of the left rear tire and figured that I would pop it out.
The only problem was that when I got closer and took a better look, I realized it was a nail head. Crap. Happily, the tire was still holding pressure, so I just drove it straight to Meineke and left it in the night drop. The nail is in between the treads, so I am pretty sure that this will be an easy repair, but much better to get it there before more damage was done. I called Gretchen while I was on my way and she came to pick me up.
Off to the basement I went when I got home, as there was more laundry to do and tracks to be mixed.
Well, there were tracks to be mixed if Cubase would stop crashing out from under me. I eventually determined that the problem was with loading and trying to use the new version of Auto Align 2 in Cubase. Since this includes yet more ARA implementation stuff and since ARA implementation stuff still seems to be dicey in Cubase, this somehow doesn't surprise me. I uninstalled the current version of Auto Align 2, installed the previous version and the crashes went away.
I also filed a support ticket, because it would be better if somebody actually fixed the problem.
Once that was done, I managed to get five or so test mixes done. We'll see how they sound as I go through them.
And the kids brought the rest of the concert gear to the basement where I have now stowed it away where it belongs. This is a good thing.
