The train is an option, but it's a bad option. In order to get trains that run in reasonable time, I have to catch a train by 7:30 AM going downtown and catch one back out by no later that about 5 PM. Since I'm working with folks on the West Coast, that puts me in emphatically the wrong time zone.
The other problem is that the development office is on the wrong side of the Loop from the train station, so you have to catch a shuttle bus. That adds another 20 minutes or half-hour to what would otherwise be a vaguely reasonable commute. It's across the street from the Trump Tower, which is a relatively stupid place to have to commute to.
