I turned on the Tigers / Mariners game in the fifth inning, figuring it was about halfway through.

The game is now going to the 15th inning. Wow!

I went to bed after the 12th inning, after Flaherty's first scoreless inning. (usually I don't do that, but I was coming out of anesthetic....)

I was bummed to see the final score, but that game was a reflection of the entire Tigers season. (And now we find out that Torres was playing hurt the second half of the season.)

That seems like a good reason to go to bed!

I am sorry for you that the Tigers lost, although I have to admit that having the Mariners in the World Series to face the Brewers would guarantee that *somebody* new would with the World Series.

I was bummed, but honestly, they didn't hit well enough to advance. The bullpen found itself (other than Game 3), but there was no hitting. "Get 'em on, get 'em over, get 'em in" only works when someone gets on base.

And I'd be OK with Seattle in the WS. (Not that the Tigers would have beaten Toronto anyway....)
