Ok, I've now booked airline tickets for [livejournal.com profile] daisy_knotwise and me so that we can join the DI contingent at Confluence. It's about time I worked another contract...

RH has made ConFluence very filk-friendly. It's a small convention, compared to (say) Marcon; but very high-powered, with a lot of authors attending. I think you'd enjoy it.

I've been attending since the early 1990s, and wouldn't miss it for the world.

Which reminds me, I'd better get my room reserved!

I would love to go to ConFluence, if (a) I could teleport there, and (b) it weren't the same weekend as the FCF convention, which has cheetahs this year.

Yeah, we can't really compete with cheetahs, and the teleport thing is a tad problematic. Maybe if we could get Panthera to do a shuttle run in her roarjet... :-)

I didn't know where best to circulate this, so I thought I'd pass it to you. I assume you'll know who'll want to know about this:

Re: Sandra Miesel's husband (this via Mark Shea)

My husband John has been diagnosed with a brain tumor and will be having his first chemotherapy tomorrow. The doctor is optimistic that it can be treated--one third of lymphoma patients are still alive in five years. But John is very weak and poorly coordinated at present. He'll be confined to the first floor of our house until there is some improvement.

Prayers from the blogsphere will be appreciated.
