[livejournal.com profile] daisy_knotwise and I spent some time going over the tracks for Falling Toward Orion that I recorded last weekend at Barry and Sally's and they sound pretty good. Yay!

My ex-wife, Carol, sent this out on a fairly wide e-mail broadcast, so I don't think I'm compromising anything by letting folks here know:

Her husband, John, received a kidney transplant last weekend. So far, so good, but it does mean they won't be making it to Duckon this year. Of course, you've got to have priorities... :)

Due to an irreconcilable scheduling conflict, I'm ending up not doing the Overnight suicide prevention walk this year. However, my friend, Dorotha (who appears on Seven Miles a Second) is still doing the walk and I'm sure would appreciate your support.

If you wanted to contribute to support Dorotha's walk, you could go to the Overnight website and look her up.

Or you could just click on this handy link.

[livejournal.com profile] daisy_knotwise and I are expecting. Some of you already know this and it has been creeping up on the level of "Worst Kept Secret in Fandom", so here's the situation:

There's a generous woman up in Wisconsin who's being a surrogate mother for us. According to her doctor, she's due around November 21st, which means that life could get really exciting about then. (Ok, life's really exciting now, as well as a bit scary and nerve racking. But I gather that most pregnancies are like that.)

Of course, there are still many things that might go wrong -- which would explain the scary part. But we're keeping our fingers crossed that things continue to go well.

So far, so good.
