Of course, when your doctor is Dr. Bob, life isn't necessarily routine. But it was pretty normal this time, with one of (as [livejournal.com profile] daisy_knotwise calls them) the "baby doctors" taking the history and such.

I've been informed that I really need to lose weight. This isn't a revelation.

And the solution is simple. Eat less and exercise more.

It's the execution that's the problem.

But I have ideas.

I'd like to claim virtue on my part, but can't - I was down to the low 200s when I got employed again, and then jumped all the way back to 235 in a year. Exercise and eating less has generally been helping me to get back to the low 200s again, but I'm not sure that taking 8 months to lose 25 pounds is anything to brag about.

Still, the only thing that's ever worked for me to take weight off is significant chunks of exercise. 30 to 60 minutes per day, minimum. I'm not back up to the level yet, but work has finally stabilized (and will get even quieter when summer rolls in), so more time will come available for exercise. With luck I'll punch thru 200 pounds some time this summer. I doubt I've been less than 200 in fifteen years, so it'll feel like an accomplishment. If only I can keep it up.

And no, I'm not going to keep everyone posting. Lord, nothing is more boring that talking about diets.
