This morning's drilling appears to have been successful. I have a lovely post that will someday hold an implant and a sore jaw.

I have now taken more naproxen and hope that the jaw will be slightly less sore shortly.

I spent most of today massively distracted and got very little done that I had planned to do. I'll end up making up for that later.

Tomorrow, I am looking forward to my long-postponed date with the oral surgeon who will be putting in the post for an implant if all goes according to plan. This was originally scheduled for early March, but I had a terrible cough and postponed. And then it was postponed again...

So here we are! My dentist officially reopens for non-emergency patients tomorrow and -- at 9 AM! -- I will be one of the first.

With any luck, this will all go smoothly.

The oral surgeon took a look at my extraction site and bone graft and said that it seemed to be healing up nicely. Unless something odd happens, we'll take a look at it again at my six month cleaning, which will be about the time that we should start working on the implant process.

So that's good news.

So I was up way too late last night for a work meeting with India. And then the phone rang this morning. It was my dentist's office. They'd had a cancellation for their 8:30 appointment -- could I get there right away?

Sure!

So I did. My dentist ground down the tooth so that it's smooth and we'll see how it behaves, as the remaining tooth appears stable for the moment.

But now I'm really tired... :)
