daisy_knotwise and I have spent much of the evening trying to get the house in shape for the cleaning lady tomorrow. (Gretchen, I'm sure, more than I, although I managed to get a reasonable number of things put away.)

The problem is the unreasonable number of things that still need to be put away.

At the moment, this would include Katie and Julie, who need to go to bed.

I never really understood the concept of cleaning the house before the cleaning lady arrives - why bother with a cleaning lady if you're going to do all the cleaning anyway? :-)

You have to do the pick-up-and-put-away before the cleaning lady can do the washing and dusting and polishing.
If we didn't put all this stuff away, Yolanda couldn't find the floor to wash it.

Unreasonable number of things? Hmmm.... I suppose that beats having a number of unreasonable things to put away (including K&J).
