Thriving

The new Toshiba Thrive arrived today. It's now mostly configured and I was able to spend some time playing with it tonight. It'll clearly be useful for its intended purpose -- e-mail and web browsing -- although there are some things that I'll need to work around. (For example, ESPN will insist on throwing me onto the mobile version unless I go and change a browser setting every time I reboot the machine. Ick!)

During the process of configuring the Thrive, I've discovered that my Windows 7 upgrade on my home machine has somehow caused the command prompt to stop working. This isn't good, because I don't need a command prompt often, but when I do, I need it badly. So far, I haven't managed to find a solution. *sigh*

Do the registry entries that refer to cmd.exe look odd? (What would odd look like?)

Does it behave any differently in Safe mode?
