Oh, come on. You know me.

Just give me the ring, ok?

And I'll see you somewhere in the rings of Saturn...

How is that even a choice?

Definitely the ring. The only better thing would be if you could find a way to handle both the green and blue rings at the same time.

I'm not a comics fan particularly, and I had no idea what the Green Lantern's powers were. (Spider-Man, being more frequently referenced outside of comics, is familiar.) According to Wikipedia, the Green Lantern can do pretty much anything, so it's a little hard to see this as much of a choice.

Hmmmm...the ring can do just about anything. But could even the ring make your elderly RME Digi9652 card work with Win7 64 bit?

About the only way I could see this being a serious choice is if we got serious about just how much "Willpower" it takes to run the ring. IIRC, the more willpower, the greater the effects you can do. I have no illusions about my having a particularly high level of willpower, just average in general (stronger in some areas than others, of course).

Another thing - I haven't followed GL since the Hal Jordan era, but IIRC the previous (dying) GL had specified "Must be fearless" when it sent the ring searching for the new GL-to-be. Presumably fear can break your concentration - and if that happens when you're in outer space (and you need the ring to provide air, temperature control and so on) or are protecting yourself from the attacks of a Supervillian, well, that can be bad for you. Again, I'd put myself somewhere in the middle of the pack for the amount of fears I have.

But assuming one could learn to use the ring to at least SOME approximation of how typical GLs do, both the versatility and power of the ring are FAR above Spiderman levels. (And besides - there's a shortage of tall buildings around here to swing from.)

These days, when a new GL is chosen, the ring tells him/her, "You have the ability to overcome great fear. Welcome to the Green Lantern Corps."

You could use the ring to become Spiderman-like, if you wanted. Best of both worlds.

If I had to choose between a GL ring and a Legion ring I'd still pick GL, but it would be a harder choice.

But...but...all his enemies are cowards, and hence yellow...

As the redhead, I'll take the green ring and marry Spiderman.
