When I made an appointment to do some work with Nidhish, my Indian colleague, tonight, it somehow escaped my notice that our change to Daylight Savings Time meant that I would be up even later than I usually am.

Oh, well. I'm sure he'll be along soon. :)

Back when I worked for Motorola (and lived in Illinois), on my visits to India, I'd often call Tara after getting up insanely (at least by Indian standards) early - about 6:00am. Of course it seemed a bit like a call back in time, since I'd catch her early the previous evening in Chicago.

On the other side, our Indian coworkers usually stayed at the office until 19:00 or 20:00 there time so that they could be on conference calls with Illinois (and Massachusetts) early in our work days - often 7:30, or 8:00.

Now, working with India is usually just a case of "throw it over the wall" since there is nearly no sane overlap in either direction. China is a bit easier - if we stay late they can come in early. Of course most of my time at Qualcomm my immediate teams' overseas coworkers are in India not China.
