When You Wish Upon A Star

billroperI was upstairs earlier this evening, looking up something on the computer, when Julie toddled in carrying the box of Dora the Explorer board books that I'd bought her for Christmas. She plunked it down on the desk.
"Would you like me to read you a story?"
"Uh huh," she said, and pulled out two books. I read the first book, then started on the second one, where Dora and her friends all make wishes on Little Star. Eventually, they were all through and turned to ask the reader, "And what do you wish for?"
And Julie thought for a moment and said, "Daddy."
So I kissed her on top of her head and thanked her. And then I finished the story.
