The real problem with the end of daylight savings time is that it gets dark really early here in Chicago.

Standard time is a really stupid idea in this part of the country. (That is, we should be on daylight time all year long.) I remember that one year during the Carter administration we were on DST all year long, and it seemed like everyone was bitching about having to send their kids to school in the dark, but I didn't have a problem with it being dark in the morning, and it was the only year during my K-12 education that I didn't come HOME from school in the dark almost every day.
