If you get a chance, catch the highlights of the Red Sox / Yankees game tonight. There was a play in the bottom of the eighth that was really entertaining. And the umpires eventually got the call right.

I listened to the game over the Internet. It was something.

By the way, I need you to contact me. Eli Goldberg referred me to you and said you had some sample contracts I could use to take care of managing songwriter royalties. I;m reocrding a filk album and I need to get svereal songwriters' contracted because I'm using their tunes 9and doing a few outright covers).

Based on what he saw, the first base ump made the right call, too. It's just that he didn't see all of the play. The umps got a couple of calls right after conferencing. I was pleased to see that.

But that was a very entertaining play -- and I don't blame Francona one bit for pulling his team off the field.... The cops in riot gear may have been a bit much, although it did seem to get the point across.

First time I ever saw that particular bit of drama. A-Rod gets negative points for cheating, but gains most of them back for doing it just at the moment that the first base ump couldn't see it.

Er, that's assuming he thought it through that far.
