As mentioned previously, I have four fine unused vintage bags of red volcanic landscape rock free to anyone who would like to come get them.

I also have a perfectly good full-size wooden pallet and a perfectly good half-size wooden pallet, both of which could be happily hauled away before going out with the trash. Got water in your basement? These will keep something above a bit of water on the floor...

And yes, I am up way too late. :)

If I lived in your area, I would happily take the rock off your hands; I'm sure I could find some places in the yard to spread it to reduce the surface area that must be mowed every week.

Alas, by the time I drove to your house to get it, I would probably spend more on gas than I would save on the rock :-)

But good luck finding someone who wants it. If nothing else, if you have a Habitat For Humanity in your area they often have stores with used thises and thats--the one in my area has everything from doors and sinks to clothes. They might be interested in landscaping supplies.

We're a bit too far to take the rocks - and our yard has gray river-rocks in the landscaping, not red cinder.

Oh, and pallets can be useful in garages as well as basements. If we'd had the boxes of books on pallets instead of the garage floor when we lived in Oceanside, we'd have more books today. But I also used them in Bartlett where we didn't really have a basement - just a subterranean crawlspace with a gravel floor and no headroom.
