Running Just As Fast As I Can

I have more to say on numerous subjects, but we've got another rehearsal tonight for SpaceTime Theater's ConClave show, so all that will have to wait for a longer chunk of free time. :)

In the meantime, I'm looking at getting a better stage lighting system than the one that we've been using. (This wouldn't be overly hard, you'd think, given that it's four halogen lights on two utility poles.) But there are more complications here than you could shake a stick at. Fortunately, daddy_guido has a minor in theater. Unfortunately, he won't be at rehearsal tonight due to prior commitments -- which, with a wife and two young daughters, is quite understandable.

Of course, maybe he'll read this and give me a call...

Heh. Tomorrow night I have several hours to rewire and mount six lights for our Rocky Horror lighting setup, and the first traveling show is this Sunday.

If everything goes perfectly, it will be done. So, I'm not counting on it.

Bill, I'm trying to get the current contact info for John Woudstra. He is a fannish friend of mine from waaaay back (the guy who took me to my first con really) and he is a professional lighting designer. I mean he does it for a living! Last I knew he worked at Meadowbrook Music Hall at Oakland University but I wouldn't swear to that. If I get the info I'll email ya.

Meanwhile - good luck! I wish I could see your show, I *still* remember the Musical Comedy Zone which had me rolling on the floor for weeks. :-)

Thanks! It looks like we're going to get two stands and eight PAR38 cans to put on them, but that's not yet final.

Darn it - tell Gretchen to get out of my dreams, will you? I had *another* dream involving her last night. I think I better book the two of you for a meal at OVFF or my subconcious may beat me up. Jeez.

We were sitting around talking while a bunch of people were singing in a filk circle in a nearby room. My brain decided we were at a worldcon, which is odd because I had just abandoned a bunch of SCA people at a tavern in another nearby room...yeah, the room was a tavern. Why Gretchen and I were sitting around talking at a Worldcon that happened to have a tavern, I don't know. *laugh*

And she should have a LiveJournal! I'd read it! (Maybe she'd stay out of my dreams that way...*Grin*)

Interestingly, Noreascon had a tavern: The Mended Drum. We spent a fair amount of time there because of the music acts (including us, at one point).

Synchronicity. Wonderful stuff...
