The weather's been lousy around here for a long time. As a result, fuzzbucket_cat hasn't been going out a lot, because the back yard has been covered in deep snow.

But then the weather improved, the snow melted, and the grass reappeared. So last night, we let Fuzz out.

And forgot to let him back in. I figured this out when I went downstairs this morning and found him meowing and pawing at the back door when he saw me coming.

It's windy out. Fuzz hates wind.

So I let him in.

In retrospect, I should have noticed that he hadn't come by to wake me up in the middle of the night. :)

Hi Bill,
It's been raining a lot here as well!! Oh by the way, we went to Key West while on vacation and got "Waisted away again in Margaritaville" well not really waisted, we had a margarita in Jimmy Buffets bar and restaurant and I sang a bit of the song at our table. We both thought of you guys!!!

I can see a technological fix to this, but it probably involves RFID for Fuzz and sensors outside all the doors, which seems excessive.

Somehow, a little flippy sign, like for dishwashers, doesn't seem adequate, though.

Hendrix will occassionally throw himself out the door when I'm letting the dogs in or out. If he's not back by the time I go to bed it's -his- problem.

Our cats have been indoor cats ever since we got them, and have never expressed any interest in going out. But recently, Columbus has begun venturing out onto the porch from time to time. I wonder if it's due to the frequent visits from our neighbor cat Tabby. He now knows that there is SOME place out there where other cats live, and he wants to seek it out. (Maybe to destroy them in their lair...) But, as yet, he hasn't had the courage to venture further than the porch.
