I didn't go down and check out the studio last night. This turns out to have been a mistake.

We spent well over an hour figuring out what was going wrong. It turns out that the main studio computer is refusing to boot, so I'm going to have to figure out what's killed it later. However, while not booting, it was also preventing the console from talking to the monitor. [livejournal.com profile] ladyat and I eventually figured this out, although it did involve having to lift an 80 pound monitor out of a well. *sheesh*

A mic cable also refused to come out until it took a shred off of one of my knuckles, which proceeded to bleed profusely. But having tasted blood, the studio now decided to cooperate and we got a lot of work done. We've got percussion for about two-thirds of the tracks on Juanita's album now. We'd keep going, but Brenda has to be back in Danville tomorrow for church and has to leave here at 4 AM CST to make it there on time.

Brenda's off to bed; we'll be following soon.

Glad to hear the recording of a new CD is going well.

The mental image... You keep your monitor in the well?

That just sounds like a good excuse to chuck that 80 pound boat anchor for a flat panel.
