The Big Compile

I think I've gotten a number of features close to working today. Unfortunately, I touched the "Var.h" header file, which means that the system is going to be compiling for an hour or so.

All things considered, I think I'll go get some dinner and go home now. :)

If (a) compile times are a problem, (b) you have a gigabit network in place, and (c) you have money to throw at the problem, you might want to check out a product called Incredibuild from a company called Xoreax. (If you're interested but I spelled it wrong and you can't find it, yell and I will get the actual reference when I'm at work.) We're evaluating it at work, and my boss says that it works great, but it's expensive and he's not convinced it's worth it. It distributes the compile over multiple machines on the network. I think it's free for a two-week evaluation so you can see if it actually works for you.
