They call what's currently falling from the sky "wintry mix". This means it includes snow, rain, freezing rain, sleet. It might be simpler just to call it guck. At least it's better than oobleck.

But not a whole lot better.

Since we didn't get out early enough this morning to beat the arrival of the guck, we haven't yet obtained this year's Christmas tree. We'll get one later in the week when things have dried out a bit.

It's the weather ghods way of saying, "You should have gotten the decorations out YESTERDAY - nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah...." or at least, that's what I'm telling Steve. It was 40+ and sunny THEN. I expect he thinks it's Nature's way of saying, "Maybe we don't need decorations this year."

Meanwhile, this morning's weather forecast called for "One to ten inches of snow." I really love those forecasts that pretty much say, "Get out a 12-sided die and roll!" and there's no such thing as a saving throw.

I thought that was simply called "London weather".

Or maybe that's just me being smug because I'm in Athens and it's sunny... :)

Thank you for reminding me of one of the reasons why I don't miss living in the Chicago area. Especially since spending the weekend at Loscon helped a fair amount with my missing Windycon.

I call it schrain - something in between snow, sleet and rain. No matter what you call it, it's miserable out although the roads (at least down here) are not bad.

Stayed damp snow up here in Michigan. Drove Amber back to E. Lansing tonight and it stayed just above freezing and the salt trucks were out so no problems. A few patches on 23 but my Jimmy justified its gas bill. Bri and Amber (and I) finished off our 15 lb turkey and most all of the side dishes in two days so it was a good Thanksgiving.

Yuck, I hate the really wet stuff. It weighs to much to lift with a shovel and the snow blower doesn't throw it very well.
