Banjo!

The six-string banjo arrived today, quite well packed and in fine shape. It's been officially tested and sounds good to me.

Because you have so much free time you don't know what to do with that you needed another instrument? *grin*

Well, not that much free time. But a six-string banjo is strung and tuned like a guitar, so I already know what to do with the left hand. The right hand work is a little bit different, but I'm discovering that a slightly more aggressive finger-picking technique seems to produce the correct tone. And there are a lot of songs that I strum using what I think of as a crossed thumb strum that seem suited to the banjo tone as well. (Basically, I hit the strings at a different angle as I go down, alternating.)

The big reason for getting it is that the banjo adds another tone to the palette in the studio. I need only find the right songs to use it on. :)
