Little Girls

Even when you're under the weather -- or maybe especially then -- there's something wonderful about your little girl running up to you and raising up her arms to be lifted up by you. And you pick her up and hug her and put her down.

And she lifts up her arms again. :)

It's why I wish we were closer to Ian and the boys. Nothing beats hugs from a child. The last time I was there, Lucian, Ian's stepson who is autistic, curled up next to me on the couch and wrapped my arm around himself. It would have been an awsome thing just on its own, but the fact that he's autistic just made it that much more incredible.

Yep, kid hugs are just the very best.

The only problem in my house... is hugs are a full contact support. If you're not braced properlly you'll find yourself on your ass.

A hug from your little girl still works when she's 25. Though a bit harder to pick her up.
