Best Laid Plans and All That

It turned out that we didn't paint last night, because the contractors were still busily grouting the bathroom tile and didn't have time to finish sanding the walls. They'll do that today, then start tearing up the master bathroom (that we emptied out last night).

In the meantime, we discovered that showering with the bathroom door open in the third bathroom sets off the smoke alarm in the upstairs hallway. Hey, who knew?

Seems so. I can now verify that it still happens even if you turn on the bathroom exhaust fan. *sigh*

(As Gretchen charged in from the bedroom, yanked the door closed -- giving me a dirty look in the process -- and grabbed the broom handle to shut off the alarm for the second day in a row...)
