Half Tooths

billroperSo the dentist's office called back this morning and I made an appointment for 1 PM for them to look at the dental carnage. It turned out that it wasn't too bad.
The X-ray and the fact that the exposed dentin was sensitive to cold suggest that the tooth is still alive, just wounded. So the original (large) filling in the middle was removed, a new box carved, a pin inserted as an anchor, and a new filling emplaced to include the now-missing corner. A good half of the visible tooth is now amalgam, but it's likely to hold together for a while.
