[livejournal.com profile] daisy_knotwise's very elderly phone has disappeared. My three-year-old phone is in none-too-good of a shape. It was time to get new phones.

It turns out that we can convert from our pair of 300 minute individual plans to a single 550 minute plan with shared minutes and free mobile-to-mobile calling for the same price we're paying and get free phones. And because I'm an Oracle employee, I get a 20% discount off that "same price", which means things will actually get cheaper.

So we've got new phones now. We'll see how this works. The phones are identical, save that mine is blue and Gretchen's is pink.

Well, we had to be able to tell them apart somehow.

Did you get to keep your number, or do I need to re-program my phone?

Ask Katie about the whereabouts of your old phones. When Mere was that age, she had (and still does) a habit of stuffing things in "hidy-holes". Once Mere had stuffed the TV remote into her toy oven. it was gone for weeks. It only surfaced when a friends older child brought it to us and asked "do you need this?".

I think it came out of my purse somewhere in Ohio.

Pshaw. When you you said "very elderly phone" I thought you meant something like that candlestick phone with a dial I got in the eighties (which I still have around here somewhere).
