Report From Gas War Alley

I actually haven't driven down Elmhurst Road in the last few days, but it's been interesting to watch the local gas prices. The Shell at Golf and Milwaukee is usually high and is currently at $3.559. The Mobil at Golf and Washington is $3.499 while the competitive Clark across the street is $3.469 as is the Citgo at Golf and Dee.

But Sam's Club was at $3.329 yesterday, while the Meijer at Golf and Algonquin was $3.299. Obviously, Sam's was too high -- they're at $3.279 today.

Quite a spread.

We went from $3.37 to $2.99 overnight. Today it was down another penny. I'm pretty sure they're just lowering it to raise it again for the 4th weekend.
