Really Fast Delivery
May. 30th, 2007 03:34 pmOver the weekend at Marcon, I discovered that several months on one crutch had pretty much finished off the arch support in my New Balance 747s and that my left foot hurt a lot. But this was ok, because I'd ordered a new pair of New Balance 748s that I could switch into when I got home.
Except the 748s are just that much smaller than the 747s. They didn't fit. Now that was ok, because I could still return them to Zappos.com where I'd bought them from, but I still really needed some new shoes.
Memorial Day evening, I went on-line at Zappos and ordered a new pair of New Balance 965s in a wider width. They've got next-day delivery included in the price, but -- of course! -- they couldn't ship on Memorial Day in any case.
So the shoes shipped on Tuesday morning.
And arrived on my porch on Tuesday afternoon, much to my surprise.
My left foot feels much better.

Date: 2007-05-30 09:51 pm (UTC)Fortunately, the perfect shoes for the orthotics are $21.99 from KMart. Yes. Really. I've tried more expensive shoes, even shoes that are specifically "orthopedic", and the Cobbies Cuddlers are the only shoes that remain comfortable no matter how much I walk or stand. KMart's the only place I can find them. I live in terror that the store will stop carrying the style, so every time I have an excuse to go to KMart, I buy every pair they have in my size. Judged by my closet, I'm a really boring Imelda Marcos.
