Doggy Thoughts

I was driving to work this morning (gray, miserable, thinking about raining Monday) and glanced over to the left as I was preparing to change lanes. There was a dog in the car next to me, hanging his head out the window, with that deliriously happy doggy look that says "I'm riding in a car and hanging my head out the window!"

I turned to Gretchen and said, "Ok, where did that bit of genetic programming come from? I've never seen a dog that didn't behave like that."

She was as bemused as I was. So I turn the question over to you...

I think its in all of us. Alas, our big old brains having figured out that it might be dangerous and potentially silly to hang our heads out the window, tongue flapping in the wind.

My eight year old thinks its fun! Course my instant reaction is to stop her.. cause, well, its potentially dangerous and quite possibly embaressing.

So, override your brains, hang your head out the window of the car!
