The Cliffhanger Collection

Ok, I know that many of you have given up watching ER. But, for those of you who still do, wasn't that the most amazing collection of cliffhangers tonight? You'd think it was the end of the season and there were tricky contract negotiations coming up.

Yes, I still watch, and last night hurried home from teaching prenatal class to be there in time for the start. When Abby comes home... (!!!!)

Diana and I used to be HUGE "ER" fans. For me, when it became "Cast Tragedy of the Week" I started losing interest. Diana pulled the plug when Carter left.

But for us olde timey ER fans, how about a quick summary?

Ok, bunches of spoilers here, so avert your eyes if you don't want to see them:

Weaver's left to go be the health segment on TV news in Miami. (Probably the same station that Good Morning, Miami was on.)

Pratt's in jail for illegally distributing prescription drugs that resulted in a man's death. Kovacs has gone to bail him out.

Tony and Neela are getting it on a bit when Tony gets a call from his disturbed ex-girlfriend's daughter (who he likes a lot) announcing that they're in a car somewhere and crazy mom has stopped breathing.

Sam has taken Bob, the too-good-to-be-true new nurse, off to bed and her idiot son has just set the apartment on fire.

And Abby and Joe have arrived home to find the crazy patient who lost his malpractice suit against Kovacs waiting for them in the apartment with a gun. And he wants Kovacs to come home.

So next week, the only doctor in the ER may be Ray...

Actually, this year, ER has been much better, largely because good things are allowed to happen to the characters.
