[livejournal.com profile] daisy_knotwise and I returned to the studio tonight (at last!) and tracked baritone guitar parts for Apology, My Husband, the Filker, and Average SCAdian Girl, with the assistance of our new executive producer. Fortunately, these all went in through the nice, new direct box, so the occasional squall wasn't a problem.

Quote of the day: "No, no! Spit up on me, not on the console!"

Word of advice... when changing diapers.... make sure she's not aimed at anything valuable. We were warned to watch out for the urine... no one warned us about the other end....

Ah, yes, the surest way to identify someone with a small child/infant from those without...

When you hear a small child starting to hurl, the non-parent will go "EW!" The parent will hold out cupped hands and say "NOT on the CARPET!"

Or with tiny babies, the non parent will respond the same way, the parent will look at shirt/ blouse, shrug and say "it's washable".

What a cutie !!!

Loved the pictures you posted a couple of days ago. Looks like we could have a basketball or volleyball player in the family. Okay... I've been thinking that with Claire also, but so far we've opted for cheer leading and tennis... as long as it's healthy & wholesome and she enjoys it... great with me.

I noticed that Bill is referring to our precious addition as Kathleen and Gretchen is using Katie... so do you have a preference yet? Claire has several nicknames, but the ones that have stuck the best are various derivatives of "Doodle" which she got from Papa Roper. He used to doodle "Turkey in the Straw" to her when she was a baby and she loved it. ("Doodle doodle doo, doodle, doodle, doodle, doo. Doo, doo, doodle, doodle, doo, doo doo...") Sounds like one of Dad's songs doesn't it?

Well better go for now. Just wanted to say that I was glad you made it home and that I'm thankful all is going so well for you three...

Love,
Judy

It is merely an assumption on my part, albeit a logical one, that the statement was made to Kathleen.

I am reminded of going to see "Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan" at the theater. Jason was < 1 year old and we took him.

Toward the end of the movie he got a little fussy, so I took him and paced the back of the theater, while watching Admiral Kirk and his son David reconcile and hug each other. With Kirk's arms around David and mine around Jason, it was a fantastic bonding experience.

That's when Jason inserted reality and spit up on me....

Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "screaming guitar tracks"...

You should have seen the look on her face when she first heard the track. The eyes got big. The brow furrowed. It was a perfect "What the HELL is that?"
