Well, as they say, no plan survives contact with the enemy. :)

It appears that we may have to be in Madison for longer than we expected to deal with the paperwork (no baby problems, just paperwork problems), so I'm running home to grab everything that we need for an extended stay.

Fortunately, I'd already cleared all this at work...

Good opportunity for bonding. I rather enjoyed our enforced stay in Sacramento with our first kid (chaoswolf) while her mother recovered from the C-section.

Take this time to relax and bond with Kathleen. You will never get these first days back so treasure them. I am glad that work is being so understanding about this.

Yeah, we were lucky enough to have our son arrive on a Sunday evening, so the courts were open on Monday and I could take care of the paperwork the morning after he arrived. (I had the pleasure of having the judge come over the desk to hug me. She was a friend.) And then there's the interstate angle of it...sorry, the "paperwork complications" thought tossed me straight into attorney mode! In any event, enjoy the time with Katie Beth (or Katie-bird, maybe?) - she's sweet cuddly no matter what state your in! Sleep deprivation is a state, isn't it? {{{{{{{Roper family}}}}}}}}

How long is an 'extended stay'? I'm probably headed for Madison December 1-3 - I assume you're probably making it out by Thanksgiving?

Apparently, it would require a minor judicial miracle to get us out of town by Thanksgiving. The paperwork was filed on Friday, but the court only listens to these cases on Wednesdays and next week is a short week because of Thanksgiving, so...
