Did I mention how much I hate converting the 4000+ files in our system to compile (and work!) correctly under Unicode?

Damn furreners need ta learn English

The first time I ever encountered a computer that was supposed to be capable of supporting bilingual English/Japanese operation (over 20 years ago), my reaction was: You've got to be kidding! This is a complete crock! Nobody listened to me then, and the results were dreadful.

20 years later, untold thousands of programmers have spent untold millions of hours banging their heads against this wall, the results are still a complete crock, and nobody listens to me when I say so.

So, does your system have to work on Windows 98, or have you been spared the true joy that is Microsoft Layer for Unicode?

That's a very good choice, if you're moving over to Unicode.

Um, gee, Unicode support works just fine on my computer (Mac OS X 10.3.3).

We did have some complicated stuff to deal with when handling Japanese localization of our software, though.
