I took the political quiz that [livejournal.com profile] rmeidaking posted and the results don't surprise me, although they might surprise some of you.

Centrist
You scored 53% Personal Liberty and 51% Economic Liberty!
A centrist believes in moderate government intervention in both personal and economic matters. They tend to be somewhat ambiguous, as they may have the oppurtunity to pick the side of any group surrounding them on any given issue. They generally believe in a moderate social safety net and what they consider to be a balanced stance on personal liberty. Centrists tend to emphasize compromise and cooperation between partisan groups.

My test tracked 2 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

*nods* I would've liked a fence-sitting answer myself, especially for some of them. Anyway, this wasn't that big of a surprise to me...and probably not to anybody that knows me at all well: Civil Libertarian

You scored 80% Personal Liberty and 58% Economic Liberty!

A civil libertarian believes in little to no government intervention on personal matters and moderate government intervention on economic matters. As the name implies, a Civil Libertarian's main concern is with civil liberties - personal matters. They tend to be strongly opposed to war, police powers, victimless crimes, and foreign intervention. Civil Libertarians may tend to believe in a social safety net, but to a lesser extent then most leftists. Strong Civil Libertarians are somewhat inclined towards supporting capitalism as an economic system. A civil libertarian strongly believes in protecting personal liberty. They strongly support self-ownership and privacy.
