The Pegasus Nominees Concert starts here at Worldcon in Anaheim in less than 20 minutes, which means it's just about time for one of catalana, filker0, or tarkrai to break the embargo.
It's a recent development. I know we did one in Boston in 2004, but I don't recall whether there was one at Torcon in 2003, and I wasn't at Glasgow last year, so someone else would have to answer for that one.
Kathleen covered "The Girl That's Never Been" for you.
All songs were performed in one way or another. Kathleen had to read "Legolas", because the MP3 didn't come through in the mail and no one had the chance to learn it. Seanan's "Maybe It's Crazy" was on MP3.
Yes, HOPEFULLY ... we really would love to make Worldcon in 2008 ... I personally hope it will be in Chicago, cuz I *always* wanted to go to Chicago. But even if it happens to be in Columbus ... that's home turf for filkers, so ... *g* We'll see how things go financially ... 2007 will be the spectacular travel-dry-spell year ...
A Pegasus Nominees Concert was put on at ConJose, but it involved a lot of last-minute scrambling. It was still a good concert (after all, great material!), but would definitely have been improved if they had had people rehearsed and ready to go.
If they decide to do a Pegasus Nominees Video at any time (with either old or new video footage wanted), you know where to find me....
Wish I'd thought to ask up front -- going via Wells on the route that you took would not have added much (if any -- the road from Wells to Las Vegas is higher speed than the road from Salt Lake to Las Vegas).
After Midland, are you swinging north at Dallas to head for I-44 or is there any chance of you taking the slightly more southern route of I-30/I-40/I-55?
We may pass through DFW and have a meal with my brother and his family, but it's also possible that we're going to have to bypass him to get up north in time to meet bedlamhouse and ladyat and recover tarkrai's masters. *sigh*
Considering that I-20 is THE route from Midland/Odessa to DFW, you'll at least go PAST there. Having time to stop for a meal is a different order of question.
It looks like pretty-much the same distance from DFW to St.Louis whether you take I-35 to OKC and then I-44 to St.Lou, or I-30 to Little Rock, then I-40 to WestMemphis, and I-55 to St.Lou. Just depends on which different kinds of non-city countryside you want to see.
Right now, I don't know whether Morris's dad will get transferred out of the hospital to a rehab facility this coming week or not until after Labor Day. Until that happens, Morris will be still IN Mississippi helping his mom. If he's not home yet by the time y'all are ready to make the directional decision at Dallas, I'll be able to talk to you about a free overnight, if you'd be coming through LR at that time of the clock.

Date: 2006-08-25 02:33 am (UTC)Since I'm not at LACon IV, I wouldn't be able to provide videos from anything done there. :( But BayCon, Consonance, ConJose - yes.
Return trip
