Counting Down

billroperIt is getting closer and closer to Christmas. I notice that one of the presents that I ordered that was supposed to be delivered today is now officially listed as a day late, which I expect to be happening more and more as Christmas approaches.
I washed four largish quilt-like objects from Julie's room today, having to split them into two separate loads. Four loads might have been better, as I sent the kids to move the first load to the dryer and they appear not to have understood that bedding needs to be untangled before going into the dryer. As a result, those items are less dry than they might have been, but I have spread them out in the basement and, with any luck, they will be drier by morning. The amount of animal hair that was in the lint trap was remarkable, reflecting the status of Julie's room as the official household cat (and sometimes dog) sanctuary.
Gretchen took a run at making homemade minestrone soup for dinner tonight. It was very dense and she is trying to figure out how to correct the seasoning, although it was pretty decent, especially for a first attempt.
There were other things that I should have gotten done this weekend, but I am making some progress, so that's good.
