An Injured Dog

Ruby the Dog has been limping a bit recently off and on. Gretchen took her to the vet the other day for shots and had her checked out.
It turns out that Ruby has had a tear in her ACL in one leg for a long time. It had apparently healed up, but was recently aggravated and is causing the limping, which is extremely variable.
So the first line of treatment here is to see if it will heal up again. That seems reasonable.
All we have to do is get her to relax and take it easy.
And not run.
Oh. For a dog who likes nothing better in the world than running after the ball.
This is going to be tricky...
