It's Very Dark

So maybe it's fair to call this my last Chambanacon song -- not because the song is about Chambanacon in any sense, but because it has rolled out of Jen's songwriting panel at the last Chambanacon. I will say more about that in a subsequent post (a *lot* more about that!), but for now, here are the lyrics to the new song.

It’s Very Dark

It’s very dark, it’s very black.
I cannot see if they attack.
The boundaries are gone and I am blinded.
Now I am lost and I’m a fool.
The night is cold, the night is cruel,
And the howling in the wind is single-minded.
It wasn’t supposed to go this way.
I wasn’t supposed to be the prey,
But now I am the hunted and I’m learning how to fear.
Beyond my grasp, beyond my sight,
Something’s waiting in the night
And I wish that I were anywhere but here.
