I have not used Wavelab a lot recently, as I've been able to do almost everything that I needed to do in Cubase. However, I really wanted to try burning a CD and that's a job for Wavelab.

Ok, that *was* a job for Wavelab. The Basic CD functionality has been removed, but you can still assemble a CD by using the Audio Montage function, importing a bunch of tracks, and then going to the CD Wizard to fix it up to be a CD.

However, the resulting CD was 74 minutes and 8 seconds in length. That is just a bit too long to burn successfully. And I tried cheating and bumping the length limit up, but the CD burner immediately choked and died on this proposition, although that may be due to a driver problem in Wavelab. Or not. Maybe they fixed it. Maybe not. If I get a CD of 74 minutes or less in length, I can find out.

In the meantime, I was able to render the collection of tracks as numbered MP3 files, so they *should*, in theory, play in the correct order. And then I can listen to this.

I am sure that the whole Audio Montage thing is better. But it is different than what I used to have, so a learning curve was introduced at a moment when I really didn't want to slide down the razor blade of another learning curve.

Ah, well. Live and learn. :)
