More Excitement Than Strictly Necessary

Julie was late getting to school this morning, which meant that she was just about to get out of the car and walk in when all heck broke loose. The intruder alert went off at the high school, accompanied by some loud bangs, and those who were near the doors ran out, while those who couldn't easily get to a door went to shelter in place until the police came and they could evacuate.

The good news was that it was a false alarm. No one is quite sure what went wrong yet, but it looks like the loud bangs were the fire doors cutting loose and closing in response to the alarm.

We are very happy that the alarm was a false one and that everyone is fine.
