Traveling With Ruby
Feb. 4th, 2023 09:47 pmI took a short trip with Ruby today to the local pet store to get her nails trimmed and buffed. This was good, because Gretchen was starting to call the poor dog "Wolverine".
Ruby sat calmly in the front passenger seat for the trip there, looking at everything. The only real problem was that she would occasionally trigger the unbuckled seatbelt alarm. Since I was fairly sure that buckling her in wouldn't be useful (or possible), I decided to ignore it.
Ruby was happy to get to the pet store and greet the other dogs outside, then to greet the groomers. Then the nail trimming occurred and she was equally ready to go home. On the way home, she decided to move to the back seat and look out the back window. I think it was mostly having more room to spread out, but dogs can be hard to understand.
This was Ruby's first trip in my car and she was a very good dog.
(Things might have been different if we had passed more people, but no one was out walking today on this route, which was not a great surprise.)
