A Bit at a Time

Over the weekend, Gretchen spent a substantial amount of time cleaning up a mess in the living room that allowed us to put the throw pillows for the new couch away in a safe place so that they might be useful at some point in the future instead of becoming trash. This was a good thing.
I managed to get the broken towel bar reinstalled in K's bathroom (finally). And I picked up some new speaker wire and rewired both of the main speakers in the family room to the new AV switching receiver. This did *not* correct the problem that I'd heard with the "Captain America: Civil War" movie, but I'm starting to suspect that this might be a problem with the encoding on Disney+, as opposed to a problem with the receiver, because everything else seems to be fine.
All of this was tested using some of cinema's finest explosions, including that of the Death Star in the original "Star Wars", the trashing of New York in "Avengers", and -- of course -- the aforementioned "Civil War". Also, I pulled up a bit of "Disenchanted" and "Zoey's Extraordinary Christmas" because, well, musicals. Gretchen was remarkably patient, recognizing that I had waited quite some time to play with my new toy and because surround sound in that room is traditional around here. Frequently not working, but definitely traditional. :)
