This is becoming annoying. The external RAID system that I bought for recording media is not liked by the Windows XP Pro system that's the main music machine in the basement. The primary HDD in the RAID array has twice gone south and is in the process of its second automatic rebuild.

I'm not sure if I've got a bad hard drive or some other problem. But I'm positive that I'm annoyed.

What brand of hard drives is in it?? I have not heard the greatest of things about WD Sata drives lately. I have been using Seagate and Hitatchi mostly because they stand behind their product for longer than 1 year.

If they are SATA drives, check the warrantee date on them. THey might be covered for free....

It doesn't hurt to ask. Western Digital and Maxtor (and MOST other brands) tend to have only one year warrantee these days.

Only Seagate goes for 5 years and Hitachi does 3 years.

Good luck getting the system working.
