Home Run Derby
Jul. 18th, 2022 10:04 pmTonight's Home Run Derby was a lot of fun. Pujols made it out of the first round, which was a major upset, but something I really enjoyed seeing.
Soto eventually won the competition, which was, I think, another fine example of the advantage of going second. Soto managed to win his two rounds with time to spare, since he batted last. Rodriguez, who had hit a *ton* of homers on the night, but who lost to Soto in the finals, always went first, so he put up a tremendous number of homers in the first two rounds, but was a little gassed for the finals.
Still, it was quite a display.
