Small Accomplishments
Jul. 9th, 2022 01:37 pmTrash collection was postponed until Saturday this week, because of the Independence Day holiday. Gretchen went out to fetch some carryout food for the kids before we went to lunch. I figured she'd be back any moment, so I headed out to the garage to see if there was anything to be done.
The garbage had been picked up, but the recycling hadn't, so I figured I'd add the bit of cardboard packaging from yesterday's Kickstarter delivery, which K passed out the door. There was still room in the top of the bin, so in a fit of efficiency, I decided to start tearing up the box which had held the frame for the new bed. It's a ginormous box and thick cardboard, so it was not going gently.
On the other hand, it appears that Gretchen had gotten stopped by a train, so I managed to reduce between a third and a half of the box to small pieces of cardboard that would fit in the bin. When we got back after lunch, the recycling pickup still hadn't happened, so I reduced the rest of the box to flinders and added it to the top of the now very full bin.
That's one box out of the garage.
Now, if the recyclers will just show up...
