Win Some, Lose Some

Sadly, the Cubs couldn't manage to sweep the Red Sox today, being undone by errors and losing 4-2 in extra innings. The first two Sox runs should have been unearned, because a ball that falls on the infield dirt when the second baseman loses it in the sun really *should* be scored an error, even if something is hiding in the rules that caused the official scorer to rule it a hit. The last two Sox runs scored when the pitcher threw what should have been the third out of the inning wildly past the first baseman.

It was a very Cub loss.
