I am apparently managing to miss most of the kerfuffle, as I'm clearly not reading the right sources.

I think that there's also the "reading the right sources at the right time", as it seems as though a lot of the starting points got deleted/redacted shortly after the kerfuffle went public. I'm catching a few bits as they go by, and yanno, there's a reason why "friends don't let friends run Worldcons". just sayin'

(assuming you mean the latest fannish kerfuffle. if not, insert a relevant noun for Worldcon.)
