Got back from Minicon and opened the e-mail this morning to find that my accountant had -- as I expected I would need -- e-mailed me a PDF file containing a request to extend the filing time for my income tax and the amount of the check that I'd need to write. I printed them out, added the checks, and dropped by the Post Office over lunch to get them postmarked.

I'm just glad he didn't put this off until the last minute. :)

*grin* Yeah, it's good that accountants are ahead of normal people on things like that. It's terrible to procrastinate...

(Says the woman who got her refund on Saturday...and happily has no business taxes to deal with. *grin*)

I've mever quite understood how you were supposed to figure out how big the check had to be without having filled the forms out.

The objective is to figure out the maximum amount that you owe the government and send that. In this case, it's not hard for the accountant since he has all of my numbers except the K-1 from Dodeka, which we know will show zero income after expensing equipment purchases.
