billroperHaving tried all of the reasonable solutions for fixing the Dell laptop that was victimized by the Gatorade and which now refuses to charge the battery -- although it seems to run fine when plugged in, except that I still need to replace the keyboard (replacement arrives Friday!) -- I figured it was time to try spending money. I've purchased a replacement DC power jack which I'll try installing over the weekend when I replace the new keyboard. In the meantime, hey! A spare power adapter isn't a *bad* thing to have...
So I bought a new 65W Dell power adapter for the laptop. It works great, the BIOS says that it's providing 65W of power -- and that the battery health is *excellent*.
Darned shame that the battery still won't charge.
I guess I'm going to have to put in that new jack.
This is *not* a simple repair.
