25 is Silver, Right?

As of today, Gretchen and I have been married for 25 years. This is a bit of a surprise to us, as it doesn't *feel* like it's been 25 years. And, yet, here we are.
25 years ago, it was no surprise to our friends, many of whom were looking at us and wondering what had taken us so long. Some people may not have noticed the difference. :)
There are rough patches now and again, but that's the way of life. And the rough patches are *far* outnumbered by the good stretches of road.
Look! There's the road stretching out toward the horizon.
I wonder where we're going next.

Your second paragraph sounds very familiar. I still recall the reactions after Sheryl and I got engaged during our TorCon 3 trip splitting about evenly between "it's about time" and "what, you weren't married already?"
