You remember that I've been having a musical creep up on me for a while? Recently, I finally got around to writing the song for the heroine of the piece. I knew that there was a song lurking out there for our hero to sing shortly after that, but it was a matter of actually writing it.
And here it is:

Illusions
Power is illusion that whispers in the wind
Seeking to take my confusion
And lead me to battles I can't hope to win.
In moonlight glowing softly, in starlight I can see
Patterns there waiting for shaping
To take you and hold you and bind you to me.
I have fought half a lifetime
To hold back the night,
So how could this time be the right time
To turn to a thing that I'd fight?
Power calls for payment, but the price can be too high,
For the price I have paid to defend you
Has left me a ruin and left me a lie.
I see you as you're sleeping, moonlight in your hair.
Not knowing the secret I'm keeping
And knowing you'd run if you dreamt it were there.
I could force you to love me
With patterns of light and of air.
And I look at the moon shine above me
And I know that I can't make you care.
I did not fight the darkness to take what isn't mine,
So please keep on thinking me heartless
And don't take a moment to e'er look behind
This old mask I am wearing that hides a ruined man.
Keep thinking I'm long since past caring
For I know, if you saw, that no girl like you can.

Shades of Gray is the stage-setter. It will probably be reprised at some point later in the show.
Power introduces our villain, in a song sung by the villain at the heroine's older brother.
The older brother probably has a song, but it has yet to be written.
Look At Me is the song sung by the hero who has been guarding against the Big Bad that is trapped at the Shades of Gray point. The heroine has come to him looking for help. He is trying to dissuade her.
The Shades of Gray reprise probably occurs around here.
Behind the Mask is the song that the heroine sings at a later point in her training.
Illusions is the hero's song slightly after Behind the Mask.
Winter Waltz is where the hero and heroine are casting the spell that will allow them to retrieve her brother who is caged at the Shades of Gray point with the Big Bad. (Courtesy of our villain.)
That's about as far as the songs go now...
